Morning Star's push to fight off cuts - Star Conference Glasgow Sun 11 March 2012

Trade unionists, left politicians and activists from across Scotland will attend a Morning Star conference in Glasgow on Sunday to broaden the battlefront against the coalition's cuts.
Conference chairwoman Pat Stuart is expected to call on delegates to build an alliance to expose "the political and economic bankruptcy of the government's policies and pose a progressive alternative."
PCS union Scottish secretary Lynn Henderson will underline the gravity of the current economic crisis, but stress that "there is an alternative - investment in public services, transport, housing and the green economy funded through scrapping Trident and tax justice."
Other speakers will include Morning Star deputy editor Richard Bagley, Stephen Boyd of the STUC and Labour MSP Drew Smith.
